Doctor Lupanzula
Surgeon, trainer, researcher: over 20 years devoted to hair restoration.
For over 20 years, Dr Emorane Lupanzula has placed his expertise at the service of patients facing hair loss. Founder of the Medikemos clinic in Brussels, he performs the procedures himself, supported by his team, with a constant demand for naturalness and safety. A practitioner, but also an international trainer and creator of his own technique, he embodies an approach where care, teaching and research advance together.
A distinctive path
Before dedicating himself to hair transplantation, Dr Lupanzula practised as a specialist in acute and emergency medicine. His vocation was born in 2004, during his time at the Loverval burns centre in Belgium: faced with a patient severely burned on the face and scalp, he grasped how essential it is for a person to regain their hair and their face. This realisation led him to reorient his entire career towards hair restoration.
A first-class training
Dr Lupanzula trained in the United States alongside leading practitioners, learning follicular-unit implantation at their side. He then completed his studies at Université Claude Bernard in Lyon, where he obtained the European Inter-University Diploma in the treatment of baldness. He keeps his expertise current by regularly attending the congresses of the ISHRS (International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery), of which he is a member.
The EET: his own technique
Over thousands of procedures, Dr Lupanzula developed his own extraction method: the EET (Emorane Extraction Technique). The fruit of his experience and research, this technique reflects his conviction that the precision of the manual gesture and the preservation of the graft are the key to a natural, lasting result. He performs FUE exclusively with a manual punch (0.75 to 1.0 mm), a choice that favours tactile control of the extraction, where a motorised punch is faster but less sensitive.
An internationally recognised trainer
Teaching is central to Dr Lupanzula’s career. He is a founding member of the World FUE Institute (WFI), an educational and scientific organisation bringing together hair surgeons from around the world. Vice-president of the institute from 2022 to 2024, he is now its president. Under this impetus, the WFI provides physicians and their surgical assistants with the educational tools needed to perform FUE procedures with skill, precision and safety training many practitioners across the world.
- Founding member, vice-president (2022-2024) then president (2024-2026) of the World FUE Institute.
- Training of hair surgeons and their assistants internationally.
- Regular sharing of his know-how at world congresses.
Research and innovation at the heart of his practice
For Dr Lupanzula, advancing hair restoration means continuous research. This conviction guides both his clinical practice and the mission of the World FUE Institute, committed to developing new treatment approaches. Within this drive, he contributes to designing techniques and instruments specifically conceived to further refine FUE and improve both patient safety and comfort.
This commitment to innovation naturally extends the Medikemos philosophy, whose Research & Development department continuously explores the hair tools, protocols and technologies of tomorrow.
A full range of solutions
- Manual FUE, with full or partial (“patchy”) shaving designed for discretion, men and women.
- STRIP (FUT) when a large number of grafts is required.
- Body hair transplant (BHT) when the scalp donor area is insufficient.
- Beard and eyebrow transplant.
- Correction of old transplants and removal of poorly implanted “plugs”.
His experience spans all hair types, Caucasian, African and Asian, each requiring a specific approach to angle, density and design.
A relationship of trust with every patient
Fluent in French, English and Spanish, Dr Lupanzula builds a direct, privileged relationship with his patients, including international ones. His philosophy places the patient at the heart of every decision: an honest diagnosis, long-term planning and regular follow-up, in keeping with medicine’s founding principle, “primum non nocere” — first, do no harm.
